Conductive hearing loss
A category in which sound is not conducted efficiently through the outer or middle ear.
The category describes where a hearing problem occurs, not its cause or treatment. A qualified assessment is needed to distinguish wax, fluid, structural issues and other possibilities.
Primary reference: NIDCD hearing-health resources. This definition is general information, not an individual assessment.
